Ferrari 308 GTB

Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina.

Serious enquires only please call 01629 5999 / 07836 621 520

18611 miles. Original, matching numbers, low mileage, right hand drive UK car. Bearing matching chassis and engine number 19225, this early 308 GTB was one of the rare, right hand drive, Glass fibre cars. She was originally finished in Nuovo Giallo Fly with black leather interior and she has remained just this way until the present day and still has, for example, her original bodywork and carpets. The car was built at Ferrari and imported into the UK by Maranello Concessionaires. In June 1976, she was supplied by main dealers HR Owen of Berkeley Street to the first owner, Sir Hugh Fraser, of House of Fraser fame. The car was first registered at DVLA on 22nd June, 1976. By July 1978, the car had come to be owned by Tim Randles and the car was to remain in the ownership of Tim Randles, Joshua Randles and Randles Garages until August 2008. At that time, she moved to Classic Restorations of Milton Keynes, where she remained until 2012 when she was acquired for the collection of the present owner. At that time, the intention was to convert the car to race specification for competition in the Pirelli Ferrari Classic series and was entrusted to us for preparation. Although Nick Cartwright had known of the car for a long time, it was only when the covers came off that it was recognised just how rarely original the car was. In fact, far too desirable to be converted to become a race car! So in May 2012 we began work on a rather different job - the painstaking re-awakening of 19225. That programme of works has respected the rare originality of the car and has included the sympathetic carrying out of all that could be wished for to bring the car to perfect condition. Those works have just come to an end. In the meantime, the present owner has had another fibreglass 308 GTB prepared as a race car by NCSC and his collection has recently expanded to the extent that there is no more garage space at home. It is now timely for the newly-prepared car to move directly from our workshops to the care of a new custodian. Information compiled with assistance from DVLA records. For further detailed pictures of the project please go to our restoration page where the car is featured.
