The last round of the 2017 PFFC saw us head south to Britain's fastest (and probably best)Circuit, Thruxton. Nick was flying the NCSC flag in his Group 4 328 GTB.
We were treated to a glorious day for the Festival Italia event at Brands Hatch on the 14th of August. Amongst many of the attractions the event hosted rounds 7 and 8 of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic, the 2nd year the Ferrari owners club have supported the event. The two 20 minute races were run on the Indy circuit which makes for great spectating. An impressive entry of 24 cars were entered for both 20 minute races. Nick Cartwright was running his 328 GTB in the Group 4 Class.
We have enjoyed some outstanding events this year, but the icing on the cake was always going to be the season finale at Passione Ferrari Silverstone. We hoped for a big grid and got it. We hoped for good weather and got it. We hoped for good, close and safe racing with nicely presented cars, and got it. With so many Club members present, not to mention more Ferrari North Europe and Ferrari Italy dignitaries than have ever witnessed our racing series, this was an important week-end.
For the third race meeting of 2016 the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic races were held on the full GP circuit at Donington Park. Probably for all the competitors this was a new experience as opportunities to race on the full circuit are hard to come by. We were able to run on the full circuit as we were part of the Masters race weekend which included their FIA GP and Sports Car races so were able to watch some exceptional classic racing – and there are few better places than the Craner Curves to watch.
Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic made its debut at the French circuit Val de Vienne on the 4th and 5th of June. Three races took place over what was a spectacular weekend of racing and huge gathering of classic and modern Ferraris. Our three entered 328 GTB's pictured being loaded ready to make the journey.
These were possibly the most anticipated races in recent years, as we finally got to see the effect of inviting slightly later cars into our formula classic series. Entry levels were considerably up on last year, and even after last minute withdrawals some 19 cars took to the track for the single qualifying session in bright and warm sunshine. Missing was the shared Kearney/Moulden 355 whose driveshaft came adrift at the last minute. They would start from the back of the grid in both races.
Nick Cartwright has been awarded the Italia Trophy for placing runner up in Group 4 after a consistent 2017 season. Gary Culver won overall after an exceptional display of driving all year.
We are pleased to announce that Ben Cartwright has successfully qualified for the Ironman world championships in Kona, Hawaii in October 2016. He achieved this on Sunday the 13th of September competing in Ironman Wales, Tenby. He finished 28th overall, 7th in age group and 1st British athlete in age group. There were over 2000 athletes entered, including 40 professionals.
Oulton park 2015 The second and third rounds of the 2015 Pirelli formula classic were to be held at Oulton park in Cheshire. Due to being so busy back in the workshop, for team Cartwright it was the season opener though.
In the run up to Ironman Wales in 2013 I envisaged I would be more than content if I managed to complete the race. I would call it a day at that. After nine months of tough continuous training I had experienced so many ups and down. Juggling work, family and triathlon becomes an art but leaves you with little or no time for anything else other than sleep!
Oulton Park hosted the last race of the season for the Pirelli Ferrari Formula classic series. The grid looked a little sparce with only fifteen cars, but a great turnout of front running competitors promised some close racing. With two qualifying sessions and 2 races on the same day it was a busy schedule ahead.
Jamie Cartwrights consistent winning form in 2013 earned him driver of the year overall in the Ferrari Owners Club GB. Report to follow.
Following the success of the Wimbleball 70.3 Ironman last June and the overwhelming generosity of fundraising, I have decided to take on my biggest challenge yet and face Ironman Wales (Tenby) on September 8th 2013.
This weekend is round 5 & 6 of the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic at Silverstone and part of the MG live meeting. The classic will be running alongside the Pirelli Open so both races will be a rolling start.
This weekend is rounds 3&4 of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic and Pirelli Ferrari Open series. Nick Cartwright Specialist Cars will be out in force running three 328 GTB's and a 308 GTB Fibreglass. Donington always attracts a strong grid for both series and promises to make for some exiting racing. The Classic races are schedules for 11.30 am and 4.40 pm.
Rounds 1&2 VW Racing cup Oulton park Well due to budget reasons and costs we decided to run the golf ourselves at Oulton park for the first meeting of the year. Due to a busy work schedule back at base I couldn't get out to do the Thursday or Friday test like the other drivers, so qualifying was the first time in the car this year.
Unable to avoid the temptation of the last round of the Pirelli classic/Open series and first trip to the Nurburgring we decided to make the trip and headed off for the Hull to Zebrugge Ferry. Jamie C decided to retire his car for the last round (giving us all chance) and so it was Nick campaigning for group 4 honours and Ben C for group 3.
This weekend the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic and Pirelli Open will be racing along side each other at the Nurburgring GP circuit in Germany. An exciting first venture to the circuit for the two series.
Rounds 13 and 14 of the VW Cup are being hosted at Donington Park this weekend. Jamie Cartwright is running his Coverworld sponsored mrk 5 Golf and will be hoping for a good result at his local circuit.
Donington park was host to Rounds 9 & 10 of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic on August 18th.
This years Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic annual pilgrimage to Spa Francorchamps was on the weekend of July 20th/22nd with both Open and Classic series running along side each other.
Rounds 9&10 of the APR Volkswagen racing cup were held on the snetterton 300 configuration on the 5th of August. Qualifying didn't go very well, unaware that the car had new brake pads fitted Jim got to the second corner and realised he had no brakes, so a trip into the potato field followed
Volkswagen rounds 5&6 Rockingham 10 July 2012. After the success of Jim’s debut weekend at brands hatch it was decided that we would have another go in the Volkswagen racing cup, this time at Rockingham, Northamptonshire for rounds 5&6.
Honda civic racing at Brands Hatch 8th July 2012. When we got a phone call midday Saturday saying there was a drive going in the Honda Civic cup on Sunday we thought we’d give it a go.
Our current race car project is this 308 fibreglass model. We are converting the car from standard road spec to a fully prepared racer to campaign in the Pirelli Ferrari Classic. We have colour changed the car from its original Nero to its new racing livery colour Grigio Titanium.
We are pleased to report that Ben completed the Iron Man 70.3 Triathlon on Sunday. For his first Triathlon he was delighted to finish 179th out of over 2000 Athletes, ranking 39th in his age group of just under 400 competitors.
This Sunday the 17th of June Ben Cartwright will be pushing his fittness to the limit by taking part in the 70.3 Ironman in Wimbleball, Somerset http://www.ironmanuk.com/uk-ironman-703 . This gruelling event entails a 1.2 mile open water swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run across the challenging Exmoor terrain.
The Jubilee bank holiday was round 5 and 6 of the Ferrari Classic and Open series with each having a race on the Monday and one on the Tuesday. We managed to avoid the rain clouds in the classic and enjoyed 2 great races with almost 20 cars on the grid.
After an awesome days racing including DTM, NASCAR, Formula Ford, F3 and Lotus racing we finally got to the Volkswagen Cup race just after 5 oclock. Jamie's impressive finish in 5th place, in the previous days race, put him second on the grid as the first 6 places are reversed.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day at Oulton part for the Aston Martin and Pirelli Ferrari Classic meeting on the 12th of May. A respectable grid of 20 cars turned out for the meeting.
Snetterton Round 1 and 2 April 14th/15th 2012 - We have just arrived back from round 1 and 2 of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic and Pirelli open at Snetterton.
We are proud to be sponsoring the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic series for our 4th consecutive year. The series is running 14 races this season and making its debut at the legendry Nurburgring with a double header meeting. We will be campaigning six Ferrari 328 GTB's in group 3 (standard) and group 4 (modified) spec and look forward to another competitive season.

Rounds 4&5 of the calendar took place at the coastal resort of Zandvort, Holland. This is an awesome track, definitely up there with Spa as a drivers circuit incorporating incredibly fast sweepers with big elevation changes to make a real flat-out drivers circuit. Ben C could not attend due to other commitments, so jut Jamie and Nick set out to the ferry looking forward to a good weekends racing.

It was set to be a fantastic weekend of racing with old-time Ferrari classic winner Nicky-Paul-Barron back in contention and offering a challenge to the front runners. There was to be a qualifying and a race on the Saturday and same on the Sunday all consisting of 20-minute sessions.
The first race of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic was held at Silverstone on the Club circuit on April 30th. A respectable grid of 24 classic Ferraris turned up for the race.
We have just completed our winter race car project and have this fabulous Ferrari 328 GTB ready for action. We have prepared this Ferrari 328 GTB to run in this years Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic in the group 3 class.

After another highly competitive season in the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic Ben and Jamie Cartwright have retained their Group 3 and 4 titles respectively. Nick also had his best result in the standings finishing second behind Jamie in Group 4.
A strong grid of 27 cars turned out for the last round of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic on Saturday. Ben set the pace in qualifying a few tenths quicker than brother Jamie. Graham Reeder was 4th and this years hill climb champion Chris Butler was in 5th. Nick had a disappointing qualifying and was back in 14th place.

PFFC Knockhill 2010 review - It was good news tome that Knockhill was back on the calendar for 2010. On hearing great things from brother Ben about the circuit from when the series visited in 2008 it sounded like a real challenge, and it was with great anticipation that I set off on the long trip north.
Ben Cartwright had his first outright win in the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic last weekend at Snetterton. The meeting was a double header consisting of a 20 minute race on the Saturday and a 30 minute race on the Sunday. He claimed pole position for the first race and finished second after a close duel with the race victor David Tomlin and 3rd place William Jenkins.
The Scuderia Cartwright is getting ready for its first outing of the year at Snetterton for rounds 1 and 2 of the Pirelli Ferrari Formula on the 10th and 11th of April. It promises to be an excellent weekends racing with talks of up to 30 cars on the grid.
After an exiting seasons racing in the Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic and two overall wins for Jamie the Scuderia Cartwright came out on top with two overall class wins. Jamie was awarded the Trofeo trophy for his GP4 modified class win and Ben was awarded the Big Swifty for his GP3 standard class win. We hope to repeat this success in 2010.
The weather forecast was good for the weekend, and this proved correct, as qualifying conditions were perfect if a little cold back in the paddock. I felt pretty happy with the way my car was performing and there were no major issues as the session commenced .It was my first real outing at this circuit so I felt that I would use qualifying as a steep learning curve, to build my confidence for the race.
Races 8 & 9 of the Pirelli classic were held at the seaside Circuit of Zandvoort in September. After a choppy overnight crossing from Hull to Rotterdam we arrived for testing on the Friday at a very blustery Zandvoort. The paddock was full of all of the usual suspects.
Jamie had set some impressive times in his GP4 car on Friday’s test and we were full of high hopes for him for Sundays 2 races. All three cars were entered with Nick and myself in our GP3 cars. Jamie impressed us all and qualified on pole position on Sunday morning almost a second ahead of second place David Tomlin.
Were off to Spa- Francorchamps for the last two rounds of the PFFC and PFO this weekend. The two series Pirelli Classic and open are running in the same race which should make up an impressive grid.

We said goodbye to a couple of fabulous cars early in March as they were prepared to be shipped overseas. One of them was a very low mileage 328 we have looked after for 8 years and a 1 family owned Dino we have just spent the last year refurbishing.
This beautiful original Dino has just made a 2500 mile trip around Europe. As well as making the pilgrimage to Maranello and Modena where the car created quite a stir it also took in the sights of Reims and the heights of the famous Stelvio pass.
The Cotswold Ferrari owners area group called in on us on Saturday 8th of September. An impressive convoy had made the journey up to Derbyshire to spend a weekend enjoying the sights of the Peak district.
Jamie is running in The Volkswagen Cup Championship today at Brands Hatch as part of the DTM meeting.
This Ferrari 246 Dino was 1st Registered to H Gadsby on the 29/01/1974 and was previously owned by his daughter M Gadsby until our recent acquisition.
Continuing his great form this season, Jamie has won the last three Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic races making it 9 out of 10 races this year.
Due to the recent demand for Ferrari Tipos we are currently seeking to purchase good quality low mileage Ferrari's with full service history. Being located in the midlands gives us a good starting point to travel the length and breadth of the country to view quality Ferrari vehicles. We can collect Nationwide with our own transport.
The winter months are a great time to undertake Ferrari restoration projects which have recently included a Ferrari 246 Dino engine and gearbox rebuild. We are also converting a Ferrari 246 Dino engine to run on unleaded fuel. Both Ferrari cars are coming to the final stages of their ground up restorations.
The ride could not have gone any better with hardly any technical problems along the way. That is not to say the ride was easy. I hope you enjoy this short account from each day to share our adventure with you.
On May the 1st Ben Cartwright will be embarking on Challenge to cycle from Lands End to John o Groats in 8 days along with 4 other cyclists, all in aid of Matlock Mencap where Ben has been a volunteer for the last 7 years. A fellow volunteer has kindly offered his valued support by driving along side the cyclists with a variety of spares and supplies onboard.
We have just carried out a refurbishment program on this magnificent Ferrari 365 GTB/4. The Ferrari has been subject to a full Ferrari repaint, Ferrari interior re-trim and detailing to the engine bay. Our next project is on a Ferrari 275 GTS.
We are proud to have been involved with the restoration of this stunning Ferrari Dino 246 GT which won its class at the Ferrari Owners Club Concours on the 6th of July at Walton Hall.
The Ferrari 246 Dino we featured at the beginning of the year has now received a colour change and we are preparing the Ferrari Dino for this years Ferrari Concours at Walton Hall on the 6th of July.
